LED Boards & Fitted Halos
At Diode Dynamics, we produce high-density LED boards, fitted halos, and strips which provide bright, uniform output as accents. We've designed custom halo shapes for many makes and models as well! Switchback fitted halos contour to existing styling features inside your headlamp, and illuminate in a bright white and amber. All halos actually have three functions: high-power white, for DRL, low-power white, to use at night, and then an extremely bright amber, which activates when your turn signal is triggered.
Our RGBW and Switchback boards will add both style and functionality to your vehicle as well! Since the original factory optics are used, the finished result is still a clean, OEM-style appearance. Opening the headlamps is required for installation, but the LED boards are computer-designed to be a drop-in replacement, with no custom mounting required.
LED Boards
Diode Dynamics was the first to introduce replacement LED boards in 2013. After five years in production, Diode Dynamics LED boards are still the most trusted option on the market. While there are many imitators, Diode Dynamics’ are the only products assembled in the USA, and tested to SAE and DOT photometric and environmental standards. Whether you're in northern Canada or the Arizona desert, Diode Dynamics LED boards will keep running. With transient voltage suppression and protection features, they will continue running for years to come in harsh automotive electrical systems.
Diode Dynamics LED boards are also designed for electrical compatibility with the original vehicle. This seems simple, but it can make a big difference when it comes to actually using the product! Since other manufacturers are overseas, they simply design products to work with 12 volts. However, in many modern vehicles, signals are controlled through onboard computers. If you attempt to remove electronics and replace them with a standard 12V LED, you may have flickering, error messages, or no function at all - and they'll blame your truck or car, rather than admitting that the product isn't compatible.
Our development process is more intensive than simply redesigning the circuit board. Our engineers start by analyzing the electrical system of the vehicle, to determine what kind of power signal is used. Then, we develop prototypes and test on-vehicle, ensuring that the product works correctly with the factory electronics, without affecting other vehicle features. The result is a finished product designed for your vehicle's electronics - not a simple 12 volt LED. Our LED boards will work as you expect, without any surprises when you try to install them.
If you want to add some serious style, check out the Multicolor LED Boards, featuring RGBW LEDs. You'll get full control over thousands of colors right from your phone, using a bluetooth LED controller. And unlike other products on the market, all Diode Dynamics multicolor products are RGB+W, with an independent white channel. The result is a pure white output, for everyday use on the road without the usual strange "RGB white" color.
Looking for a functional upgrade? Our switchback products feature higher white output than factory. Then, when you hit the turn signal, they will light up with a high-power amber, for a unique "switchback" appearance. We also produce many boards in amber-only output if you're looking to distinguish your ride with an amber appearance.
Fitted Halos
Diode Dynamics HD LED halo kits are known for long-term reliability and quality. While LED halos and strips are nothing new, Diode Dynamics’ are the only products made in the USA, and tested to SAE and DOT photometric and environmental standards. Whether you're in northern Canada or the Arizona desert, Diode Dynamics LED halo lights will keep running. They are also designed for automotive use, not just repurposed residential lights. With transient voltage suppression and protection features, they will continue running for years in harsh automotive electrical systems.
Diode Dynamics fitted halos are also designed for electrical compatibility with the original vehicle. This seems simple, but it can make a big difference when it comes to actually using the product! Since other manufacturers are overseas, they simply design halos into different shapes, to work with 12 volts. However, in many modern vehicles, signals are controlled through onboard computers. If you try to plug a standard LED into these factory signals, you may have flickering, error messages, or no function at all. Other suppliers will blame your truck or car, rather than admitting that the product isn't compatible.
Our development process is more intensive than simply redesigning the halo shapes. Our engineers start by analyzing the electrical system of the vehicle, to determine what kind of power signal is used. Then, we develop prototypes and test on-vehicle, ensuring that the product works correctly with the factory electronics, without affecting other vehicle features. The result is a finished product designed for your vehicle - not a simple 12 volt LED. While others will tell you "your Ford must have a weird system," we understand the electrical requirements of your vehicle, and we include the wiring and instructions needed to get everything installed and working properly the first time around.
We offer vehicle specific kits for installing our fitted halos in many popular cars and trucks, including the Subaru WRX and STi, Subaru Outback and Crosstrek, Ford F-150, Dodge Ram trucks, Jeeps, Toyota Tundra, and more!
