The Parker 400 is known for its tough desert terrain and fierce competition, and the 2025 race was no different. Taking place January 15-19 in Parker, Arizona, this was the opening event for the 2025 UNLTD Off-Road Racing Series. With over 300 teams battling it out across 400 miles of desert, this race set the stage for what’s shaping up to be an exciting season.
One driver who stood out was Justin Von Metal, running in the UTV Pro Stock class. Justin kicked off the weekend strong by snagging the top qualifying spot with a time of 9:57.459. He started the race in first and held the lead until a flat tire dropped him to 17th. But he wasn’t done yet—Justin pushed hard, making an impressive comeback to reclaim 1st place by Lap 3.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing, though. At Pit 3, the team found out the transmission had lost all its oil. From there, it was about survival. Justin limped the RZR to the finish, crossing the line in 3rd overall for UTVs and taking 1st in class. Justin’s setup included Diode Dynamics' SS5 LED pods, which he credits for giving him the visibility he needed out on the course. With two clear SS5 pods mounted on the A-pillars and two amber SS5 pods on the bumper, his RZR was well-equipped for anything the Parker 400 threw at him. Whether cutting through the dust or lighting up the trail ahead, these lights delivered the output and reliability Justin could count on.
Next up for Justin is King of the Hammers, where he’ll continue to push limits in the UTV class. We’ll be keeping an eye on him as he builds on the momentum from Parker.
