Installation Instructions
Step 1 - Prepare the Engine Bay
Start by removing the engine cover to access the fasteners below. Use a trim removal tool to remove eight push pins, then set the cover aside.
Step 2 - Remove the Top Bumper Screws
Using a 7mm socket, remove the seven screws located at the top of the bumper. Partially detach the weather stripping from the T-clip near each headlight to gain better access.
Step 3 - Remove the Fender Liners
Move to the wheel wells and use a trim removal tool to remove five push pins on each side. Push the fender liner back to access the fasteners. Use a 10mm wrench to remove the two screws securing the bumper to the corner panel. Detach the bumper from the corner panel using a trim removal tool. Repeat this process for both sides.
Step 4 - Remove the Bottom Bumper Screws and Shield
Underneath the vehicle, use a 7mm socket to remove 22 screws securing the lower bumper. Use a trim removal tool to remove three push pins, then slide the shield rearward to release it.
If your Mustang is equipped with brake ducts, remove the three push pins on both the driver and passenger sides, then slide the brake ducts rearward to remove them.
Step 5 - Disconnect and Remove the Bumper Assembly
Disconnect the side markers on both sides and the multi-pin connector located behind the driver-side fog pocket. Carefully lift the bumper assembly off the five hangers at the top and pull it away from the vehicle. Place the bumper on a cradle or soft surface.
Step 6 - Prepare the Fog Light Bezels
If your vehicle is equipped with corner grille backer plates, remove them using a 7mm socket. For vehicles with an air duct on the driver’s side, remove it in the same fashion.
Release the corner grilles by depressing the white safety pins, applying outward pressure on each clip, and removing the grilles. Repeat this for both sides.
For SS3 Pods, assemble the pods by placing the locking nuts with nylon rings facing inward. Slide the Type A bracket over the pod and secure it with 5/32-inch Allen screws and washers. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to secure the pod to the bezel with the included screws.
For Elite Series Lamps, secure the lamps with the included screws, then use the aiming tool to adjust the lamps before installation.
Repeat these steps for both sides.
Step 7 - Install the Assembled Fog Light Bezels
Install the assembled fog light bezels into the bumper. Ensure all plastic tabs are aligned, and press firmly to seat the bezel. Reinsert the white safety pin to lock it in place. Repeat this process for the other side.
Step 8 - Connect the Fog Light Harness
Partially remove the passenger-side headlight using 13mm and 10mm sockets to remove two screws and one nut. Pull the headlight out and disconnect the multi-pin connector on the back. Add the fog light harness in line, then route the positive and negative leads toward the battery. Let the remaining harness hang down, and reinstall the headlight.
Plug the fog light harness into the factory side marker harness. Secure the solid-state relay away from hot or moving parts using zip ties or 3M tape.
In the engine bay, use 8mm and 10mm sockets to loosen the battery terminals. Connect the positive and negative leads from the fog light harness to the battery.
Note: The included pigtails with the fog lights are not used for this installation. The vehicle-specific harness included in this kit directly replaces those connectors for a seamless plug-and-play setup.
Step 9 - Route and Connect the Fog Lights
Route the longer DT output lead across the subframe to the driver-side fog pocket. Hang the bumper assembly back onto the vehicle, ensuring it is properly seated on the hangers. Reconnect the side markers, multi-pin connectors, and DT output leads to the fog lights.
Step 10 - Test and Finalize Installation
Test the fog lights to ensure proper functionality. The amber backlight should activate with the parking lights, and the main beam should turn on with the low beams.
If adjustments are needed, use a Phillips head screwdriver to aim the fog lights properly. Secure all loose wiring with zip ties and reassemble the vehicle by reversing the disassembly steps.
The installation is now complete. Enjoy your Add-on Fog Light Kit for the 2024 Ford Mustang!
